Meet Dr. Kochuba
Dr. Andrew Kochuba was born and raised in Mountaintop, PA, affectionately known as Northeastern Pennsylvania. He is the oldest of 3 siblings (brother Matthew is a Trauma Surgeon at the University of Florida and sister Rachel is a NICU nurse in Philadelphia).
Dr. Kochuba prides himself on his patient care and the relationships he forms, especially since he was once a patient. As a teenager, he underwent Plastic Surgery to his face and hand after an accident. It was this misfortune and life changing experience that caused him to pursue a career in Plastic Surgery as well as his relationship with his grandfather, Dr. Joseph Campana, the first doctor in the family.
He is dedicated to providing each patient with the best experience, exceptional care, and achieving the best result possible. Outside of the OR, he enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa, his toddler son Gavin, his newborn son Bradley, family, and friends. They love traveling, being foodies, mother nature, and just living life to its fullest. He is excited to be living in the DMV and to be a member of the Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery team.
Dr. Kochuba is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed plastic surgery journals, especially the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
He is also a reviewer for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He has presented at over 50 national and regional meetings in the field of plastic surgery. Dr. Kochuba currently serves on multiple national committees of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), including the Young Plastic Surgeons Forum, the Annual Meeting Educational Program, and the Aesthetic Residency Curriculum Development committees. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
Dr. Kochuba is known for his mastery and training specifically in aesthetics. His surgical expertise includes facelifts, neck lifts, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty/septoplasty, and the use of lasers, peels, and skin tightening technologies, such as Phenol/TCA peel, C02 laser, and Facetite/Bodytite. He has published peer-reviewed articles about injectables, treatment, and complications. He is an educator and trainer for plastic surgery residents and fellows, specializing in Botox, Juvéderm, Dysport, and Restylane.
In breast surgery, Dr. Kochuba performs the full spectrum of procedures from flash recovery breast augmentation (24-hour recovery breast augmentation), fat transfer to the breast, combined breast augmentation with lift, and complex surgeries for those who are not satisfied with their previous results. This includes revisions for implant complications, breast lift, and the use of internal bra/mesh.
For body contouring, Dr. Kochuba utilizes the most cutting edge technologies & the latest surgical techniques to performs tummy tucks with natural-looking belly buttons, mini-tummy tucks, and plus-size tummy tucks. He offers after weight loss surgery procedures, including tummy, body, arm, and thigh lifts, as well as high-definition liposuction/360 lipo and mommy makeovers. Dr. Kochuba specializes in aesthetic procedures for men, women, and transgender individuals.
Dr. Kochuba received his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. During medical school, he volunteered his time at the Hoya Clinic, Hands-On DC, and DC Central Kitchen. He graduated from medical school in the top ten of his class, Cum Laude, and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha (the most prestigious medical school honor society).
Dr. Kochuba completed his general surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NYC, widely considered one of the busiest hospital systems in the US. While in the Big Apple, he met his wife Melissa, a NICU Nurse and Lactation Consultant, fell in love, and got married. Dr. Kochuba trained in Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
UPMC is recognized as one of the most prestigious plastic surgery program in the world and is currently ranked as the #1 plastic surgery residency in the country by Doximity. He trained with world leaders in plastic surgery who are experts and pioneers in general, reconstructive, and aesthetic-cosmetic plastic surgery. Dr. Kochuba completed his training at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic in an ASAPS-endorsed aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship. Cleveland Clinic is consistently ranked as one of the top two hospitals in the nation by US News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals.” He trained exclusively in aesthetic plastic surgery under the mentorship of Dr. James Zins, a world-renowned plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic plastic surgery of the face.
