ABOUT CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels are designed to improve the texture of the skin on various parts of the body including the face, arms, hands, legs, neck, and chest. Peels address fine lines, hyperpigmentation (skin discoloration or age spots), sun-damaged skin, light freckling, and mild scarring. Chemical peels range in strength and stronger peels go deeper but also have more recovery and chance of complications. Facial peels can be combined with other surgical procedures such as a facelift for an overall improved and younger look. TYPES OF CHEMICAL PEELS

At Austin-Weston, we offer a range of chemical peels, each suited to different skin concerns and administered by either our board-certified plastic surgeons or our skilled medical aestheticians. Our chemical peels are divided into two categories: non-surgical and surgical.

Non-Surgical Chemical Peels

Perfect Derma Peel are performed by our medical aestheticians and are ideal for patients seeking less invasive treatments with minimal downtime.

Light Peel $175

The light Perfect Derma Peel targets the outermost layer of the skin to treat fine lines, mild pigmentation, and surface-level imperfections. With minimal downtime, this peel is ideal for maintaining a bright and fresh complexion.

Medium Peel $275

The medium-depth Perfect Derma Peel removes several layers of skin, effectively addressing moderate lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation. Recovery typically involves peeling and redness for several days.

Deep Peel $375

The deep Perfect Derma Peel offers significant improvement for more pronounced skin concerns such as deeper wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage. This peel requires a longer recovery time, with peeling lasting up to a week or more.

Surgical Chemical Peels

These peels are performed by our board-certified plastic surgeons in a controlled environment, often in the operating room. They are best suited for patients with more extensive skin damage or those seeking dramatic results.

TCA Peels (Trichloroacetic Acid)

TCA peels are a medium-depth chemical peel that effectively addresses moderate to severe skin concerns, including deeper wrinkles, more significant pigmentation issues, and moderate scarring. The peel penetrates several layers of the skin, promoting collagen production and revealing smoother, more even skin. Recovery from a TCA peel can take up to two weeks, with peeling and redness expected during this time.

Phenol Peels

Phenol peels are the most intense chemical peel offered at Austin-Weston, reserved for patients with severe skin issues such as deep wrinkles, extensive sun damage, and significant scarring. The phenol peel provides the most dramatic results but also requires the longest recovery time. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia or sedation, with a recovery period of at least two weeks.

  • Post-Peel Care: After the peel, your skin may be red, and you may experience some peeling or flaking. Your esthetician will provide you with aftercare instructions to help your skin heal and maintain the results of the peel.
