The best candidates for Kybella:
A number of small injections will be made in the fat under the chin during this outpatient procedure. A local numbing agent is also used as there is some pain and burning immediately after injection that lasts several hours.
The treatment typically takes around 5 – 10 minutes. For the first few days afterward, there is significant and visible swelling in the neck area that usually resolves by one week. Patients usually need 2 – 4 treatments to see a result and the injections are spaced out by 6 weeks.
Some Reston Kybella patients may notice a reduction of fat after just a single treatment but most patients will notice improvements after 2 – 3 treatments. This result is significantly less than a surgical outcome and reserved for patients who are not surgical candidates.
